An Acehnese Mosque located in the center of Georgetown, Penang Island, was very heart-touching place to visit. It made me proud to be an Acehnese generation. The mosque was built by Tunku Syed Hussein Al-Idid, a politically influential Acehnese kingdom prince and rich merchant, in 1808 after his arrival in 1792. The Masjid Jamiek built with Moorish style (combinations between Indian, Egyptian, and Chinese styles) and roofed with Meru, not with a half square dome in usual.
